Shelter Diversion & Rapid Rehousing

Shelter Diversion

Services

This program allows us to get “upstream” of family homelessness by engaging families experiencing housing instability, prior to entering shelters. We believe the best way to solve family homelessness is to prevent it.

Rapid Rehousing
Services

This program allows us to engage families experiencing literal homelessness and help them overcome barriers to housing. We believe that housing is a basic human right and every child deserves a home.

Case Management -
Shelter Diversion

All families receiving Shelter Diversion financial assistance services commit to step-down case management services for a minimum of three months. Case management happens around families schedule needs and is literally working with families to keep them out of the shelters, when it is affordable and sustainable, as well as complete weekly budgeting with the families to grow a financial safety net. Case management is critical to help ensure that the family can maintain their new housing for the long term.

Case Management -

Rapid Rehousing

All families receiving services in our Rapid Rehousing program commit to weekly case management services for up to 12 months. Case management is critical to help break ongoing cycles of homelessness, create stability for the family, provide advocacy when obtaining housing, and ensuring the family is able to maintain their housing long term. Our case managers complete weekly budgets, help families increase their savings and get our families connected to community resources and build strong networks for supports post services.

Referral Services

Family Promise of Colorado Springs is a member of the Pikes Peak Continuum of Care for our Rapid Rehousing Services. We have designated Family Service managers who attend the weekly meetings where we participate in the review of the list of families needing assistance and we coordinate resources together. We ensure we all provide coordinated case management, non-duplication of services and are in ongoing communications with each partner agency. To be identified for the Coordinated Entry list and/or inquire about Rapid Rehousing Services, please call 719-329-1244 to schedule a time to complete the assessment.
