A Year of Need and Challenges
Dear Friend,
2025 was a year defined by rapidly escalating need, funding challenges, and resilience. The funding landscape changed rapidly as federal resources dried up, private grants became even more competitive, and people in general navigated unstable economic conditions. Across El Paso County, families faced severe housing pressures that included soaring rents, stagnant wages, and the growing reality that for an ever-increasing number of families, even full-time employment is no longer a guarantee of sustainable housing.
In this environment, Family Promise of Colorado Springs remained steadfast in helping more families to achieve or maintain stable housing.
In 2026, the need for all of us to stand together and offer support, compassion, and hope to families will remain high. As an agency, we plan to offer the highest-quality services to our families, expand high-impact programs, and continuously strive to keep families together as they work to overcome housing instability.
Thanks to our donors, partner congregations, and volunteers, we kept children safe, supported parents in crisis, and kept families together during their most vulnerable times. Your support made it possible for families to achieve stable housing with dignity and hope.
We are proud of what we accomplished together. And we know the work ahead is critical.
Thank you for walking with us.

2025 At A Glance
A Community Responding to Crisis
Colorado Springs saw a dramatic surge in family homelessness this year which included a record number of parents and children living in their vehicles. Applications for shelter and eviction prevention doubled during some months.
Family Promise of Colorado Springs responded with agility, compassion, and innovation. The work of our staff and volunteers made a significant impact on families facing homelessness, keeping them together and avoiding the trauma that creates generational patterns.

Our Programs

Eviction Prevention
Keeping families housed is the most effective and most cost-efficient solution. Through high-impact case management, we provide financial literacy, landlord mediation, guidance on available aid and assistance, transportation assistance, access to food and fuel through gift cards and transportation passes, and immediate stabilization planning.
Impact Highlight: The cost to stabilize a family through prevention is 10–20x lower than providing aid once they have been evicted.
Family Shelter Program
A safe, dignified, trauma-informed, and family-centered residence. Each resident family has a private room, storage, and access to community living areas like a full-service kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry facilities.
Additional services include:
-
Weekly on-site case management to set a stabilization plan and guidance to achieve longer-term housing upon graduation
-
Home-cooked meals are provided each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by our volunteers
-
Private overnight accommodations
-
Transportation assistance through public transportation, ride share programs, or even affordable vehicle purchases
-
Employment and childcare support
-
Connection to community resources available through partner agencies
Transportation Program
Affordable transportation is often the missing link between homelessness and stability. In 2025, we launched our Transportation Program to help families expand access to essentials like employment, childcare, and education.
Our Transportation Program provides:
-
Access to affordable vehicles
-
Free Bus passes
-
Ride share services to job interviews, healthcare appointments, etc.
-
Vehicle repair assistance (when applicable)
In 2025, our Transportation Program provided:
-
Two vehicles to families that otherwise would not have been able to afford a vehicle
-
Vehicle repair assistance to two families
-
More than 200 bus passes
Stabilization Program
For families that receive either eviction prevention assistance or short-term shelter, our goal is to help families maintain stable housing once the crisis has been resolved. Our Stabilization program aims to support and help ensure that our families maintain a stable housing environment for their families.
Our Stabilization program includes:
-
Our case managers will offer a regular schedule of case management meetings to support our families’ paths to sustained stable housing
-
Continued connection to resources and aid where needed
-
Referrals to key services like childcare, transportation, mental health services, and more
