About Family Promise of Colorado Springs

Family Promise of Colorado Springs exists to provide safe and compassionate temporary shelter for children and their families who are situationally unhoused. Family Promise strives to provide guest families with hope, safety, stability, and hospitality while protecting their dignity through quality case management.

Family Promise engages the community and its resources to provide basic, preventative, and trauma-informed supportive services to families with children who are in homeless situations or at risk of becoming homeless.

Today, we are proud to say that we’ve provided meaningful support to situationally unhoused children and their families for 28 years, with every intention of serving many more families for years to come.

Our Mission

Our Focus

FPCOS was established to provide the type of support these families need and deserve. Our approach is to keep family units together and provide compassionate, safe and clean temporary shelter with wrap-around services and case management to help families transition into stable housing. By acting quickly, families and children are often spared the trauma of long-term homelessness. Our organization is uniquely structured to connect these families to professional services that support the whole person within caring and compassionate contexts. We seek to equip and empower families for success and growth through strengths-based coaching in household financial literacy and management, job readiness and employment stability skills, good tenancy, and positive parenting support.

The FPCOS Day House

In 2024, we completed a remodel of the Family Day Center, where case management family services are provided. Each family in shelter has a private room, access to laundry and kitchen facilities, and a bathroom. This facility provides each family a chance to share space, find community, and have easy access to their case management resources that help place them in more permanent housing upon graduation.

We also recently relaunched our Homeless Prevention program, which helps families and children avoid homelessness by providing housing-related financial assistance to eligible households. Financial assistance can be applied to rent, utilities, and/or security and utility deposits to maintain housing stability.

In 2025, we also launched our new Families First Mental Health Program, through which Colorado Springs families can access vouchers for use with eligible mental health providers.

Today, we are proud to say that we’ve provided meaningful support to situationally unhoused children and their families for 28 years, with the intention of serving families for years to come.
