The Interfaith Hospitality Network

The Interfaith Hospitality Network Family Shelter is a clean and sober program for families with children. Family Promise has built partnerships with local congregations to provide the space to house 4 families for one week at a time. The volunteers provide warm meals, a safe and welcoming environment and comfortable sleeping spaces within their congregations for our families. The families then spend their days at the shelter, if they are not working, where they receive customized case management services and can apply for resources to help the achieve self-sufficiency.

The New Promise Family Shelter

Opened in February 2020 the New Promise Family Shelter is the only low barrier family shelter in the state of Colorado, and only one of three in the entire nation, which allows us to serve ALL families experiencing housing instability no matter their circumstances or background. Our families stay in individual family units that keep the families together, instead of separating families by gender, as the traditional shelter model does. The families with children are some of the most vulnerable and underserved people in the Colorado Springs community. We give them the opportunity to come through our doors and receive a welcoming smile and hand to help them along in their journeys to self-sufficiency through specialized case management services and advocacy.

All families enrolled in our programs have access to financial literacy classes, strength building skills and individualized case management to help each family in their individual journeys to self-sufficiency!
